04 Feb What I’m Paying Attention To This Week
From cafe meetings in a bustling city to tender conversations that shape our views of society.
These past few weeks have allowed me to share spaces with amazing individuals and build ideas in unexpected ways. Amidst it all, the creative gift of communication has lingered on my mind. Whether it’s perspectives you inherently agree with, or those that make you question and reconsider. There is a constructive element to be found in every interaction.
Here is one of many that I think is worth sharing with you.
I recently spoke with Rabbi Pesach Wolicki, the Executive Director of Israel365 Action, a columnist, and public speaker on the Common Sense Podcast. We spoke about the growing tensions between the “America First” movement and the longstanding pro-Israel political alignment. It was an insightful exploration of the cultural, religious, and geopolitical foundations that have historically shaped U.S.–Israel relations, considering how online discourse and generational changes may influence future alliances.
Conversations like this remind me that our understanding of the world is often shaped through dialogue, storytelling, and the willingness to sit with perspectives that stretch us. That same thread of human connection and shared meaning is something I’m always searching for — not just through discussion, but through literature as well.
With that in mind, here is the OnPurpose Book Club’s February pick!
Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow – Gabrielle Zevin
This month, we are reading a novel about friendship, brilliance and the painful beauty of building something with another human. It follows creators who rise, break, reconcile and rebuild. You will feel tenderness and tension in equal measure.
Stories make us human. See yourself in this one.
